**SAFE 07/22/16** INBAR NEEDS A NEW HOME…HE’S HAD HORRIBLE PREVIOUS OWNERS AND QUITE FRANKLY, HE’S PROBABLY GLAD TO BE AWAY! INBAR had been DUMPED due to , “personal problems, landlord conflict and child conflict.” But when you read this 8 year old, already NEUTERED guy’s bio, you soon see that it was clearly CHILD CONFLICT! The owners got INBAR from a shelter, and should be ashamed to admit that after their baby was born, INBAR was not social or playing with anything at all! Fast forward to 2 years… (and mind you, we don’t condone calling a toddler names), the owner’s BRAT OF A CHILD WOULD YELL AT INBAR, PULL HIS TAIL, HIT HIM AND PRY INBAR’S MOUTH OPEN! The previous owners allowed this!!! And then dump him at a HIGH KILL SHELTER?? Which probably feels like Disneyland compared to where he was! And the ACC gives him an EXPERIENCE RATING? PLEASE…. help this guy! FOSTER OR ADOPT him NOW! INBAR wants nothing more than to go THROUGH THE BARS, AND GO HOME WITH YOU!

07/07/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/07/16 14:16 BASIC INFO Inbar is an 8.5 year old neutered DSH cat. His family got him from a shelter and surrendered him for personal reasons, landlord conflict, and child conflict. Inbar was declawed at 5 years old. He became less active and playful and stopped playing with toys/bugs, climbing, and scratching. Inbar has also been less active and hasn’t played much since his family had a baby 2 years ago. He had a UTI when he was 1 year old and has been on Purina One Urinary Tract Health adult cat food since. He’s done well. SOCIALIZATION Inbar is shy with new people for a few minutes. He lived with a 2 year old child who played rough with him-yelling, hitting, pulling his tail and ears, opening his mouth, etc. Inbar bit him once, about 4 months ago, without breaking skin, and this was his only bite. Inbar plays exuberantly with people. BEHAVIOR Inbar is nervous in the car. He doesn’t mind when someone picks him up, holds him, or wakes him up. He’s nervous when put in a carrier or runs away when brushed. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Inbar’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, mellow, quiet, and low energy. He follows his family and sits in their laps. He plays with balls, catnip toys, and laser pointers. He lived inside. He went for walks in the past with a leash and collar, but lately, due to lack of time, he was only taken on the patio. Inbar eats dry and wet cat foods. He’s littertrained and used a hooded litterbox with clumping litter. His first accident was 2 months ago; he defecated in the child’s bed. INTAKE Inbar was tense but tolerant as I pet him, scanned him (+), collared him, positioned him for pictures, and put him in a carrier. On the counter, he sat crouched. He vomited foamy bile. He didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize except for meowing a few times in his carrier.

07/10/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Inbar’s previous owner reports he is shy with new people for a few minutes. He has lived with a two year old child who played rough with him; the child would yell, hit, pull on his tail and ears, and open his mouth. Inbar nipped him once four months ago, but this did not break skin. Inbar did play exuberantly with people, though. He doesn’t mind when someone picks him up, holds him, or wakes him up. He was described as friendly, affectionate, mellow, and quiet with a low energy level. He follows his family and sits in their laps, and likes to play with balls, catnip toys, and laser pointers. Reaction to assessor: Inbar becomes alert when approached and looks at the assessor with wide eyes. Reaction when softly spoken to: Inbar appears tense and alert, and looks around at his surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Inbar lip licks and remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Inbar sniffs the assessor’s hand and remains in place to accept petting. His body softens and he leans into petting slightly and closes his eyes, but becomes alert when there are things going on in the environment. Reaction to being picked up: Inbar is tense, but remains calm when held. Behavior Determination: Experience Inbar tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Due to the information provided by the previous owner, he may feel more comfortable in a home without children, but he was very tolerant of the rowdy child he lived with. Any future home with young children should conduct a thorough interaction before adopting.
