Observed Behavior -lethargic, lying in litter box, no appetite; unsocialized but allows handling

EENT:
-OU: severe mucoid discharge from orbit; eyes crusted shut; unable to visualize globe OS but can visualize OD and appears intact with cornea edema
-severe bilateral mucoid nasal discharge, congestion
Oral Exam:mm lgt pk, tacky; deciduous dentitia
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: mild increased inspiratory effort secondary to nasal congestion, referred upper airway noise; no obvious murmurs/arrhythmias
ABD: soft, nonpainful, doughy; no palpable abnormalities
U/G: male, unable to palpate scrotal testicles, r/o previously neutered vs cryptorchid
MSI:
ambulatory x 4 but prefers lateral recumbency due to severe dehydration
severe diffuse muscle wasting
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal:grossly normal
Assessment
1. URI, conjunctivitis, severe
2. Possible globe rupture OS
3. Dehydration, severe
4. Emaciated
Prognosis:poor to fair
Plan:
-place IVC, 20 ml bolus, then continue at 8 ml/hr
-baytril 100 mg/ml: 0.1 ml IV (or IM) SID
-cerenia 0.2 ml IV SID x 3 days
SURGERY:temp waiver due to URI, underweight
