***SAFE 10/22/17*** BEGINNER SWEETIE HOUDINI NEEDS SOME MAGIC TONIGHT TO SAVE HIS LIFE! HOUDINI is LOW SUSPECT FOR RINGWORM has some alopecia on his body. Although he was woods lamp negative – he was still being treated for ringworm but now the shelter says he must go – HOUDINI is very friendly and affectionate. Ringworm (if in fact that is the problem) is treated with anti-fungal cream. PLEASE WORK SOME MAGIC AND RESERVE HOUDINI BY NOON!

I came into the shelter as a stray on 15-Oct-2017.

KNOWN HISTORY: Houdini was brought in as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior -very FRIENDLY ENRICHMENT NOTES: Resting on bedding, playing gently with pillow toy. Came to the front when door opened, soft eyes and body. Leaned and arched into pets, purred, sat calmly when held. Ideal event cat once healthy. Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Houdini immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction when softly spoken to: Houdini remains soft in place. Reaction to cage door opening: Houdini remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Houdini head-butts the assessors hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to being picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Lively VOCAL: Talkative CHARACTER TYPE: Social Sweet Affectionate BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: Beginner Behavior Asilomar H – Healthy BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Houdini interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.

SURGERY IS TEMPORARILY WAIVED FROM ACC DUE TO POTENTIAL RINGWORM
[DVM Intake] DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 4 weeks Microchip noted on Intake? none History : Subjective:offered canned food, ate readily, very FRIENDLY Observed Behavior -no aggression Evidence of Cruelty seen -no Evidence of Trauma seen -no Objective P =200 R =20 BCS 5/9 EENT: no conjunctivitis or ocular d/c but conjunctiva adhered to upper area of OU in small area, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted, Bald area on nasal planum skin beneath NSF Oral Exam: deciduous dentition, pink gums, euhydrated PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: MI, both testicles descended MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat except for mild erythema and alopecia along inner thighs and pedal surfaces of HL’s CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment alopecia/mild erythema: r/o secondary to irritation, infectious (LOW SUSPECT RINGWORM) OU: symblepharon, corneal scarring from previous infection- not active now Prognosis:very good Plan: Wood’s Lamp negative DTM taken lime dip 2x/week for 10 days will extend based on DTM results itraconazole 10mg/ml: 0.5ml PO SID x10days, will extend based on DTM results ***LOW suspect ringworm- but because kitten and alopecia, DTM was run and started on treatment for ringworm SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to LOW suspect ringworm

He had a relaxed body during intake. His tail was up and his eyes dilated. He was very vocal and treat motivated. He did not sit still for picture.
