09/16/16 17:12 Animal’s appearance – Cat appeared clean and of healthy weight. Animal’s demeanor with you – Cat allowed minimal handing. Cat was transferred from carrier to den with no display of any forms of aggression. Client stated that this cat just showed up on his front stoop about 2 weeks ago and he and his family began to feed her. And now since they have been feeding her every day it seems she will not leave. Client’s mother does not want this cat living on their property any longer and told client to bring the cat to SIACC.

Hermione came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Hermione allowed minimal handling. Reaction to assessor: Hermione is at the back of her cage. Reaction when softly spoken to: Hermione looks at the assessor, a bit tense. Reaction to cage door opening: Hermione remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Hermione sniffs assessor, warms up slowly to petting but begins to lean in, body softens. Reaction to pick up: Hermione calmly steps down from assessor’s arms. Placement Determination: Average Hermione does not approach the assessor, but appreciates petting and allows all handling. Hermione is exhibiting behavior suited to average cat parents.
