10/11/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Hawthrone was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Hawthrone was curled up at the front of the kennel with his paws tucked under his body. Reaction when softly spoken to: Hawthrone becomes alert then hisses at the assessor with wide dilated eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Hawthrone quickly retreats to the back. Reaction to touch: Hawthrone looks around and appears uncomfortable when the assessor extends his hand out. He closes his eyes when touched, stress meows then quickly runs forward trying to escape the kennel. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Hawthrone tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
