HAWTHORNE – A1062773
Gone - 1-19-2016 Manhattan
**GONE 01/19/16** THE EYES SAY IT ALL! ‘PLEASE DON’T HURT ME!’ and a Volunteer writes: “Need someone in your life that knows how to cuddle like the best of them, but can also be an independent woman? Then Hawthorne is your girl! She seems to be a little nervous in her new, but temporary, home in her cat condo so she would LOVE to explore the world outside of it. Children may make her even more nervous so if you are flying solo or living with adult human companions, she would fit in perfectly with that kind of arrangement. She was found in a building, so she is not used to living the lavish life indoors. Thanks to the finder that brought this young girl in to us, we know she might not get along well with other cats in the home. Patience and time is all this girl would need to be your partner in crime! The occasional head scratch and chin massage wouldn’t be a bad idea either, it would be a great way to begin the bonding process.”
HAWTHORNE does allow petting, this SPAYED little girl was found as a “stray.” Please save her life!

01/15/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Hawthorne looks tense in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Hawthorne remains crouched position, body held tightly, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Hawthorne accepts the stroke, but slowly retreats away after a few strokes and hissed at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: Experience / no child Hawthorne tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
