Behavior
As per previous owner, Around strangers Harlene is friendly, outgoing, and plays gently with adults. Harlene has been around children. She is relaxed, affectionate and plays gently with them. Harlene has been around cats of various ages. She is respectful of them and plays gently. Harlene has been around small dogs. She is relaxed, affectionate and respectful of them.
Reaction to assessor: Harlene does not come to front but looks at you calm and relaxed
When spoken quietly: Harlene comes to the front of cage to look at the assessor
Reaction to door cage opening: Harlene remains soft and relaxed
Reaction to touch: Harlene solicits petting and attention
Try picking cat up: Harlene is tolerant of this type of handling
Behavior Determination: Beginner
At the time of the assessment Harlene was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Harlene is displaying behavior appropriate for a beginner cat owner.

Basic Information:
Harlene is 5 year old female domestic short hair cat who was surrendered with her sister Lana due to their previous owners moving to a place where animals are not allowed.
Socialization:
Around strangers Harlene is friendly, outgoing, and plays gently with adults. Harlene has been around children ages 6 and up and is relaxed, affectionate and plays gently with them. Harlene has been around cats of various ages and is respectful of them and plays gently. Harlene has been around small dogs and is relaxed, affectionate and respectful of them.
Behavior:
Harlene has never bitten or scratched another person or animal. Harlene has no behavior issues and is afraid when riding in a car. Harlene’s previous owner did not attmept to give her a bath so it is unknown how she will react to that event. Harlene enjoys being brushed, picked up and held. Harlene will struggle when having her nails trimmed and is afriad when being placed in a carrier. Harlene is not bothered by being disturbed while sleeping/resting.
For a New Fmaily to Know:
Harlene is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, and talka tive with a medium activity level. Harlene likes to play with her toys and run around. When at home Harlene will sit on her owners, be in the same room as her owner and likes to stay in her favorite spot. Harlene likes to play with balls, string, wand toys, catnip toys and chasing toys. Harlene has been kept indoors only. Harlene was fed both wet and dry food. Harlene is litter box trained and used an uncovered/hooded litter box with clumping litter. Harlene used a scratching post made of carpet and smooth wood.
Intake Behavior:
HARLENE allowed staff to collar, scan for a microchip and take pictures with no signs of aggression.
