**GONE 03/31/16** VETERINARY CARE NEEDED for gentle GUCCI, a neutered 10-year-old gent who was brought to the ACC for reasons of “pet health.” According to his shelter notes, this guy has a history of urinary tract issues, which they have tried to address by setting him up with some Royal Canin food. Gucci seems to prefer to eat other stuff instead, those folks decided they were over it, and now GUCCI has made the euth list. Gucci has an EXPERIENCE rating and would really benefit from a foster stepping forward. That way, the foster could concentrate on loving him while the New Hope rescue picked up the reasonable vet bills….but, he wouldn’t say “no” to an adopter who is able to handle his medical needs, either. Gucci only has until noon tomorrow, and then his time is UP, so please advocate widely on his behalf, tonight.

03/28/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
03/28/16 12:41 Gucci is a 10 year old brown tabby male neutered domestic shorthair cat who is being surrendered due to a medical condition. Gucci has been with the family 10 years. Gucci lived with 3 adults and no small children or other animals. If small children is will flee and will avoid interaction and petting. When adults come to visit he will greet them with sniffing and allows petting. Once a large dog visited the home and Gucci attempted to ward it off with a tense body and growling. He is an indoor cat who uses a closed litter box. He uses clumping litter. In the past several days Gucci has suffered from inappropriate urination outsid of the box due to his medical condition which he is currnently recovering from. Gucci will struggle for a bath and has not had a nail trimmed. He enjoys being brushed and is tolerant of being picked. He may be resistant to being placed in a carrier but is tolerant of riding in the car. Gucci does not have toys but will play swat and chase with objects he finds in the home. He does not have a scratching post so he may scratch the carpet in the home. When the family is home he likes to be where they are but doesn’t mind finding his own place to be either. When home alone he is well behaved. Gucci eats both wet and dry food but should be on a prescribed diet. However Gucci will not eat the royal canin CD which the family is trying to feed. Upon intake Gucci was quiet for introduction and lethargic for handling. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) collar and photograph.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Gucci lived with three adults and no small children or other animals. If small children came over he will flee and will avoid interaction and petting. When adults come to visit he will greet them with sniffing and allows petting. Once a large dog visited the home and Gucci attempted to ward it off with a tense body and growling. He is an indoor cat who uses a closed litter box. He uses clumping litter. In the past several days Gucci has suffered from inappropriate urination outside of the box due to his medical condition which he is currently recovering from. Reaction to assessor: Gucci does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly:Gucci does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Gucci remains motionless Reaction to touch: Gucci seems indifferent to my presence and touch Try picking cat up: Gucci is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Behavior Determination: Experience At the time of the assessment Gucci was displaying timid behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach I was able to pet him and interact with him. I was also able to pick him up and although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
