ENRICHMENT NOTES:
07/29/18
Crouched in front of kennel, ears tilted and face tense. Whiskers pull back when spoken to and he begins to growl and grumble. He huffs the air and drools, looking around the room with face remaining tense. Steps forward to eat all treats offered – temptations and tuna. Food motivated. Needs time to adjust.Â
07/30/18
Lying down by the front, grumbling when approached. Very treat motivated, will gobble them up when offered. Hesitant of touch, but allows it and slowly leans in for cheek rubs. Continues to grumble throughout interaction, seems conflicted. Has potential to warm up more, but needs more positive reinforcement.
08/01/18
Lying down near the back of the kennel. Sniffs hand when approached, then perks up and allows gentle petting along his body.He rises up, then slowly comes forward and leans in for attention. Much more relaxed today, looks around and observes his surroundings. Gives gentle head butts. He steps out the kennel to explore, didn’t mind being picked up and moved around.
08/02/18
Lying in front of kennel, ears forward and face relaxed. Vocalizes and head-butts kennel door when spoken to. Remains calm in front of kennel with tail raised as cage door open and allows petting along head and body while leaning in and raising tail. His tail waves back and forth in circular motions but he continues to allow all further petting. Continues to purr when picked up and held. Very cute and sweet – doing much better! Due for a re-evaluation. No grumbling or growling today.
08/03/18
Curious, comes forward slowly when I approach the kennel. Tail lifts up, sniffs hand and leans in for attention. Allows petting along his body, enjoys having his cheeks rubbed. Relaxed body posture, didn’t mind being picked up/held. Doing great! Okay to take off socialization list.
