03/24/2016 18:27 Basic Info: Gracey A1068431 is a 1yr old female white and black DSH feline who was bought at a pet store last year and is being surrendered due to the owner developing allergies and asthma. Gracey hasn’t been seen by a veterinarian and has no known health issues. Socialization: Around strangers Gracey is friendly/outgoing. She’s lived with a 3 month old baby and was gentle, exuberant, relaxed/affectionate with the baby and also with adults. Gracey has not been around other cats or dogs. She has not bitten anyone or any other animal. Behavior: During car rides Gracey will meow/cry but was relaxed after some time. She isn’t bothered by the following: being picked up/held or with being placed into a carrier. She enjoys being held and pet and always seeks attention from her owners. Gracey hasn’t had her nails trimmed, been brushed or been disturbed while sleeping/resting. She has not been bathed. For a New Family to Know: Gracey is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, confident, assertive, & vocal with a medium activity level. The owner likes how affectionate she is. When the owner is home, Gracey follows them around and seeks attention. She will meow to be pet and will rub on her owners legs until she is held. She enjoys ball toys and is an indoor only cat that sleeps wherever she wants in the home. Gracey was fed wet Meow Mix 1 full can a day. She used a covered litter box with crystal litter within. She had no accidents outside of the box .Gracey uses the couch as a scratching post. Intake Behavior: Gracey had a soft body & soft eyes. She allowed all handling. She allowed to be scanned (-), collared & taken pictures of including positioning her during her photo session. Gracey didn’t seem to mind being picked up/held & was placed into a kennel with ease.

Gracey’s former owner stated around strangers she is friendly/outgoing. She’s lived with a 3 month old baby and was gentle, exuberant, relaxed/affectionate with the baby and also with adults. Also, described as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, confident, assertive, & vocal with a medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Gracey looks neutral in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Gracey remains crouched position at the back of the cage, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Gracey growls as she leans away from the assessor’s hand, but accepts brief strokes then hisses to stop the interaction. Placement determination: Experience / no child Gracey tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
