GOOSE – A1066056

***SAFE 03/04/16 *** SECOND CHANCE FOR HANDSOME GOOSE!! A black blur, a cascade of white whiskers, a hint of luminous eyes—the shelter photograph of GOOSE leaves much to be desired. His intake notes paint a picture of a perfectly nice fellow who was brought into the shelter as a stray, and who is just looking for a little kindness. Goose seems to have a nice, cautious manner about him which suggests he will blossom into a charmer once a foster/adopter helps him feel safe again. Look closely, again, at that blurry photo. Behind that smudged plexiglas could be the best decision you EVER made, if you are able to foster/adopt this boy. If bringing him home is not an option for you, please share his story and pledge toward his care. GOOSE needs a FOSTER/ADOPTER tonight!

02/29/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Goose was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. The counselor was able to pet him upon intake, but he did attempt to flee. He did not display any aggressive behaviors throughout the intake process. He was very tense and nervous during his initial medical exam, but allowed handling without signs of aggression. Reaction to Assessor: Goose was lying down in his cage, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Goose looks at the assessor with relaxed eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Goose becomes alert, and remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Goose was hesitant, but allows gentle touch. He flinches slightly at times, but remains in place and curls his tail close to his body and lip licks. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Goose tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
