*** SAFE 10/22/17 *** Goldie is a 1 year old female orange tabby who was surrendered by her owner due to personal problems. The owner stated that she found Goldie outside when she was 8 weeks old. The owner also stated that Goldie has no known medical issues.
Goldie’s previous owner reports she only lived with them. She is friendly and outgoing around strangers and plays gently with adults. She has been around teenagers and is relaxed and affectionate with them, playing gently. She has spent time with her kittens and was affectionate with them. Owner described Goldie as friendly affectionate and mellow with a medium activity level. When at home she will follow her owner around. Goldie likes to play with balls and wand toys. She is also litter box trained and uses an open litter box with clumping litter.

Re-check eyes History : owner surrender intake 10/8. Noted to have elevated eyelids and fleas. Subjective: QAR but BAR when stimulated in cage. No c/s/v/d. Eyes appear normal. Objective EENT: Eyes clear, no nasal or ocular discharge noted, H/L: No c/s Assessment: Hx fleas mild elevation of 3rd eyelid – r/o early viral -resolved Ok to schedule for surgery Was scheduled for a bath today-canceled because the stress of a bath outweighs the benefits of a flea bath when she has already gotten a topical flea medication Prognosis: excellent
S/O: Appeared quiet on rounds. ACS reported vomiting this morning. QAR. ~5% dehydration. Decreased appetite. Allows all handling. BCS 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, no ocular or nasal discharge HL: Normal thoracic auscultation, purring ABD: Soft, non tender INTEG: Copious amount of flea dirt, mild generalized dermatitis MS: Ambulatory x 4 UG: Female A: Dehydration, flea allergy dermatitis, one episode of vomiting reported P: Rec LRS 100ml SQ q24 x 3 days, cerenia 0.3ml SQ q24 x 2 days. Recheck tomorrow. Excellent prognosis
Pre-OHE exam DVM: 1431 BAR, hydrated EENT: clear au/ou, no ocular or nasal discharge PLN: wnl H/L: 120 regular, no murmurs, ssp. Resps are clear and eupnic ABD: benign MSI: ambulatory x 4, in good flesh, ok coat U/G: female intact Neuro: nsf A: in apparent good health P: ok for OHE
Monitor for lethargy/hydration/URI S/O: QARH. Allows handling. Dry food untouched, offered wet food with no interest. EENT: Eyes clear, no ocular or nasal discharge HL: No sneezing INTEG: Generalized mild dermatitis, flea dirt A: Lethargic, inappetant; no signs of URI P: Adding mirtazapine 1/4 tab PO tonight. Continue to monitor while at BACC. Good prognosis
Monitor appetite/URI noted on rounds S/O: QARH. Allows handling. ACS reports that cat ate well overnight. Fresh food available, untouched EENT: Eyes clear, mild serous nasal discharge HL: No sneezing observed A: R/O URI P: Rec doxycycline 0.7ml PO q24 x 10 days. Good prognosis
Pre-surgical exam, anesthesia, and surgery performed by ASPCA. Green linear tattoo placed on ventral abdomen.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – calm and sweet Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Goldie was sitting upright by the front and was calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Goldie meows softly and rubs her head against the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Goldie remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Goldie sniffs the assessor’s hand and accepts petting. She leans in for cheek rubs and remains in place to be petted. Reaction to being picked up: Goldie remains calm and allows handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Calm Sweet Affectionate POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: None BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: Average Behavior Asilomar H – Healthy BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Goldie interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. There is no known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
