KNOWN HISTORY: Goldfish was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Timid but handle able for full exam. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Goldfish was relaxed and grooming himself at the back of the cage. Reaction when softly spoken to: Goldfish looks over at the assessor, lip licks then folds his paws and lies down. Reaction to cage door opening: Goldfish remains neutral. Reaction to touch: Goldfish sniffs the assessor’s hand, leans in and perks up when pet along his body. He head butts, appreciates petting all over and is constantly rubbing up against the assessor. Reaction to being picked up: Max was tense when picked up, looked around at his surroundings then leaped back into the cage. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Calm, Sweet BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Goldfish interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
