Tries to flee (back into carrier with kittens), allowed all handling Evidence of Cruelty seen – No Evidence of Trauma seen – No Objective P = WNL R = WNL BCS 4/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ear mites, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: Mild dental tartar/gingivitis PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Female, lactating MSI: Ambulatory x 4, no masses noted, ear mites, superficial wounds behind ears, thin hair coat, generalized dermatitis, fleas CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Flea allergy dermatitis, ear mites, lactating Plan: Revolution applied. Continue to monitor while at BACC. Rec strict flea treatment monthly with placement Prognosis: Excellent SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to lactating

KNOWN HISTORY:
Ginger was brought in with limited information on her behavior in her previous home. She lived in a home with one adult and other cats. She is friendly with most people and got along well with the other cats. Her owner reports she enjoys petting, uses a scratching post, and always uses her litter box.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:
Observed Behavior – Tries to flee (back into carrier with kittens), allowed all handling
ENRICHMENT NOTES:

At front of kennel as I approach, head-butting kennel door. Allows petting along her head and body, leaning in with tail raised. Remains calm when I reach over and pet her babies. Doing great!
EVALUATION:
Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged
Reaction to assessor: Ginger approaches the front and rubs against the cage door.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Ginger looks at the assessor with almond-shaped eyes.
Reaction to cage door opening: Ginger perks up and remains soft and relaxed.
Reaction to touch: Ginger accepts petting and closes her eyes. She blinks and starts to knead, stretching out her arms.
Reaction to being picked up: Did not attempt since she was nursing.
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
VOCAL: Quiet
CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Sweet, Affectionate
BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average
Ginger interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
