GINA – A1075577
Safe - 6-4-2016 Brooklyn Rescue: Staten Island Hope Please honor your pledges: http://www.statenislandhoperescue.org/
*** SAFE ***06/04/16- Little GINA was surrendered to the shelter because her owner had to go to the hospital. Poor little girl’s intake picture portrays a cat that is DEJECTED and alone in the world now. Her eyes peer over the box that she sits in terrified of this new environment that she’s been thrown into. She was given an NH rating by the ACC because of her tense state. GINA needs out now so please save her LIFE and apply to NH partners tonight. A rescue pet NEVER forgets who SAVED them!

06/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Gina and at the time she had a tense body. Gina sinks into litter box. She had wide eyes focused on all movements. She was wary of the surroundings and tolerates petting with scratcher. Reaction to assessor: Gina was at the back of the cage with wide eyes watching the assessor When spoken quietly: Gina continued to watch the assessor Reaction to door cage opening: Gina became alert Reaction to touch: Gina very tense but allows limited petting with a slow approach. She remained tense during the whole interaction Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: NewHope Gina was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. She seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room.Gina may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
