***GONE 07/27/16*** HOW CAN GIGI HAVE BEEN OVERLOOKED FOR SO LONG? This girl is 2 years old and wound up at the ACC when her former owner was evicted, which happened on July 9th. Her luminous green eyes make a stunning contrast with her immaculate black fur, and she has clearly been doted upon by whoever owned her. She carries an EXPERIENCE rating and is, by all accounts, the very definition of an “adoptable cat,” the kind of animal the ACC claims it finds homes for all day, every day. In fact, they even JUST got done with that “Clear the Shelters” event….all that time at the shelter…all those people who were in a position to adopt….YET THE ACC STILL CAN COME UP WITH NO BETTER OPTION THAN TO KILL GIGI TOMORROW? WHY?! There is a LOT wrong with this scenario and NONE OF IT is Gigi’s fault. Still, she will pay for this situation with her LIFE tomorrow, unless a FOSTER/ADOPTER is found for her tonight!

07/12/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Gigi watches the assessor tensely from the litterbox When spoken quietly: Gigi continues to watch the assessor from the litterbox Reaction to door cage opening: Gigi remains motionless Reaction to touch: Gigi allows petting but keeps her body in a low tense position Try picking cat up: Gigi is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Behavior Determination: Experience Gigi was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. I was also able to pick her up and although she was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
