GIGI – A1077156
Safe - 6-25-2016 Brooklyn Rescue: Staten Island Hope Please honor your pledges: http://www.statenislandhoperescue.org/
***SAFE 06/25/16*** PERFECTLY HEALTHY GIGI LANDED IN THE ACC DUE TO HER OWNER’S EVICTION – NOW THIS POOR GIRL WILL BE KILLED JUST BECAUSE SHE IS AFRAID AFTER HER WHOLE WORLD WAS TURNED UPSIDE DOWN!! GIGI is someone’s pet – probably a very friendly and sweet girl who purred and gave head bonks, etc. But now, GIGI is sitting on death row, a victim of eviction – and because she has acted very normal for a sensitive cat – she was punished with a New Hope only rating and will be killed for that! The ACC seems to have no comprehension of how very traumatic it is for a cat who is comfy in their home to be suddenly displaced and abandoned in a scary shelter. They said “she is not thriving” – what cat thrives in a shelter? Seriously!! BE GIGI’S HERO TONIGHT AND CONTACT A NEW HOPE RESCUE TO PULL HER TO SAFETY. THIS IS A SWEET SCARED GIRL AND SHE DESERVES TO LIVE!

06/19/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: GIGi was hiding in the litter box when I approached cage When spoken quietly: GiGi continues to hide Reaction to door cage opening: GiGi becomes stiff and alert Reaction to touch: GiGi becomes very fearful and tries to flee. She hisses and does not allows petting Try picking cat up: GiGi does not allow handling Behavior Determination: NewHope We do not have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. GiGi seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. GiGi is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
