I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 11/23/2016 from NY 11207, owner surrender reason stated was PERS PROB.

11/23/16 15:57 BASIC INFORMATION George is an orange tabby diluted with white that is 2 years old. The owner picked up George when he was a kitten in the street alone. The owner is surrendering George due personal problems. George has no known illness. SOCIALIZATION George has never been introduced to small children. When stranger come over, he meows but keeps his distance. He slowly approaches and sniffs. George is playful with the owner and affectionate. George has never lived with dog or cats. BEHAVIOR George has never received a bath nor has his nails trimmed. He walks into her carrier, allows his coat brushed and allows to be picked up for a few. He has never bitten or scratched. He always uses his hooded litter box. He allows to be picked up for a few. FOR NEW FAMILIES TO KNOW George was described as mellow, affectionate and friendly. He enjoys playing with stuffed toys that have cat nip and chasing toys around the house. George enjoys a diet of Friskies mostly dry and soft food at a treat. George enjoys being petted and purrs when he sits next to the owner. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE George during intake was very friendly and allowed all handling. He allowed being collar, scanned and photographed.

11/26/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – BEGINNER
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, George has never lived with children or cats and dogs. When stranger come over, he meows but keeps his distance then slowly approaches them and sniffs. He doesn’t mind having his coat brushed, being picked up and walks right into a carrier. His owner describes him as mellow, affectionate and friendly. Reaction to assessor: George was at the front of the kennel lying down with his paw hanging outside. Reaction when softly spoken to: George meows softly then lightly head butts the kennel door for attention. Reaction to cage door opening: George is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: George rubs up against the assessor’s hand for attention with his tail erect and allows petting all over. His movements are slow, he appreciates attention, gives gentle head butts and is very affectionate. Reaction to being picked up: George was a bit tense when picked up but remained calm and allowed all handling. Behavior Determination: Beginner George interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat can go to a beginner home.
