11/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Gamma was brought in without information on his behavioral tendencies in his previous home environment. He lived with lots of other cats and appeared well during intake. He was tense and nervous during his initial medical exam, and attempted to flee during handling. Reaction to assessor: Gamma was perched on top of his den and had a neutral body posture. Reaction when softly spoken to: Gamma looks at the assessor with almond-shaped eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Gamma becomes stiff and alert, but remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Gamma was hesitant and shifts away from the assessor’s hand slightly, but he remains immobile during touch. His body is tense and his eyes dart from me to his surroundings. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Gamma tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
