GALAXY – A1077079
Safe - 6-21-2016 Brooklyn Rescue: Staten Island Hope Please honor your pledges: http://www.statenislandhoperescue.org/
***SAFE 06/21/16*** GALAXY is a 6 pound cutie, around 2 years old who needs some TLC and a nice warm place to sleep! This black and white handsome little guy was found as a stray. Though he’s not quite sure where he is or what’s going on, he’s open to affection! At first he’s a bit timid, but when he’s spoken to softly he’s open to being pet. GALAXY would make a wonderful furry friend for an experienced pet home, so he could have time to warm up to his new home. Even though he’s scared, he doesn’t lash out. He’s shy and gentle but with a little time, could be a perfect lap cat! Don’t let this handsome guy die tomorrow at the shelter! Adopt sweet GALAXY today and open up a universe of love!!!

06/14/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Galaxy does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Gaxlaxy does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Galaxy rmoves around in the litter box nervously Reaction to touch: Galaxy allowed petting and attention with a slow approach Try picking cat up: Galaxy is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Behavior Determination: Experience Galaxy was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices he relaxed a little and I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. I was also able to pick him up and although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
