FROSTY – A1061321
Gone - 1-6-2016 Manhattan
**GONE 01/06/15 ** FROSTY IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY BUT HIS FEAR HAS GOTTEN HIM A ONE WAY TICKET ON TONIGHT’S EUTH LIST! FROSTY was dumped as a stray on Christmas eve. Nothing is known about his background. He is about 2 years old and has been punished with a New Hope only rating because he hisses and will swat if touched. On his assessment he poked his head out to sniff the assessors fake plastic hand but once he realized it didn’t seem friendly to him, he hissed and swatted again so that about sealed this poor boys fate. FROSTY may be someone’s lost or abandonded pet. He is not aggressive, only afraid. With some time and patience this boy will be a purrfect kitty. BUT YOU MUST ACT NOW – IF YOU CAN FIND IT IN YOUR HEART TO GIVE POOR FROSTY A DEATH ROW PARDON TONIGHT- PLEASE CONTACT A RESCUE GROUP TO PULL HIM TO SAFETY NOW.

12/31/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Frosty was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was very nervous upon intake and actively resisted being placed into a carrier. He hissed during his initial medical exam and is pressed by the back of his carrier. He swats only when touched. Reaction to assessor: Frosty was inside a hidey den upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Frosty does not display a reaction. Reaction to cage door opening: Frosty becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Frosty hisses at the assessor’s hand by the opening of the den, but sticks his head out to sniff the hand. He hisses again and starts to growl loudly. He does not allow touch; he hisses and swats the hand. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Frosty is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
