FREYA – A1067936
Safe - 3-25-2016 Manhattan Rescue: Anjellicle Cats Rescue Please honor your pledges: http://bit.ly/FreyaA1067936
*** SAFE 03/25/16 *** SCARED TO DEATH! Petite FREYA was found on the Bronx River Parkway and the early portion of her adventure shows a friendly young lady. She is reported to have been curious and charming….but that started to change after a mere couple of hours within the ACC. Who can blame this kitten for being utterly rattled, considering how awful the shelter environment is? Only a NEW HOPE RESCUE can save her tonight, and for that, they need a foster/adoptive placement. Please share her story, please pledge toward her care, and if YOU can be the hero of Freya’s story, message [email protected] and our volunteers will guide you through the process.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
During intake, Freya popped her head out of the box and looked around. She was very friendly and she came out on her own. She allowed herself to be held, collared, scanned, and photographed. Reaction to assessor: Freya growls at the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Freya continues to growl at the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Freya becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Freya solicits petting and attention – rubbing against the assessor’s hand while continuing to growl. After a few strokes, Freya hisses and swats. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Freya is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
