French was found by someone who allowed him to pick him up and take him home and then to the shelter. While in the home he had purrfect litterbox manners and did not scratch the furniture. 06/15/17 11:34 French is a white and black medium sized DSH who was found by a passerby while he was walking down the sidewalk. He allowed finder to pick him up and bring him home. French is kitty litter trained and did not scratch on furniture. he is calm around strangers and is not bothered by being put into a carrier. During his intake french allowed all handling and head butt counselor while allowing, scanning, collaring and photograph.

KNOWN HISTORY: French was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on his behavior in his previous home. His finder reports he allowed them to pick him up and bring him home. He was using the litter box while under their care and was calm around strangers. He allowed all handling during intake and head-butted the counselor. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – Calm, but reacted poorly to shots EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: French was lying down and was calm, relaxed, and friendly. Reaction when softly spoken to: French looks at the assessor with soft eyes and rolls over. Reaction to cage door opening: French remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: French allows petting, but will shift away and sit up. He sniffs the assessor’s hand and was slightly hesitant, but allowed the assessor to pet him gently on his head and body. He appeared more focused on his surroundings. Reaction to pick up: French is a bit tense and allows handling, but will wiggle to be placed back down after a moment. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Curious, Calm BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average French appears a bit cautious of his surroundings, but he interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
