DIED 7/4/17 FRANKIE is a sweet cat that entered the shelter in bad shape. He has a superficial wound under right side of lip and chin extending down to neck, few maggots seen, maggot eggs on top of head. He also has URI, conjunctivitis and is FELV POSITIVE. Allowed all handling, ate with voracious appetite Evidence of Cruelty seen – No Evidence of Trauma seen – Wound on neck Objective P = WNL R = WNL BCS 4/9 EENT: Eyes clear, mild conjunctivitis and mucoid ocular discharge, ears clean, mild mucoid nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: Mild dental tartar/gingivitis, pale pink mm, ~3mm lingual ulcer at right side of tongue, wound at lower right lip caudal to canine PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic, slight stertorous breathing/congestion ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated; distended abdomen with gas consistency U/G: Male MSI: Ambulatory x 4, dirty unkempt hair coat, superficial wound under right side of lip and chin extending down to neck, few maggots seen, maggot eggs on top of head CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Wound, URI, conjunctivitis, few maggots seen superficially FELV+ Plan: Cleaned wound with nolvasan, administered convenia 0.32ml and doxycycline 0.7ml PO. Rec doxycycline 0.7ml PO q24 x 10 days, erythromycin OU q12 x 10 days, LRS 100ml SQ q24 x 3 days Prognosis: Poor SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to URI
