I am a neutered male gray domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 5 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 11/12/2016 from NY 11236, owner surrender reason stated was TOO MANY P. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-081231.

11/12/16 18:43 Basic information Francis is a 5 year old neutered domestic short hair. He is being surrendered because his owner has too many cats, a total of 16, and cannot properly take care of them all. Owner found him as a stray when he was a kitten. Owner stated Francis has gum disease and last saw a vet a few years ago. Socialization Francis is friendly around strangers. He has not spent time or lived with children, dogs, or any other kind of animal. He does not play. He lived with 15 other cats and tolerated all of them. They did not play. He has never bitten or scratched a person or animal. Behavior Owner stated Francis has no behavior issues and was relaxed during the car ride to our shelter. Owner has never bathed him, trimmed his nails, or brushed him. He is not bothered if picked up, placed in a carrier, or if disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know Francis is described as friendly, independent, and mellow with a low activity level. He will follow his owner around when home. He plays with balls and string toys. He was kept indoors only and slept in his own bed. He was fed wet Friskies cat food because of him gum disease. Owner fed him three times a day. He uses an uncovered cat litter box with clumping style litter. Owner stated her cats scratched on walls made out of sheetrock. Behavior during Intake Francis tolerated all handling. No signs of aggression were displayed.

Francis is friendly around strangers. He has not spent time or lived with children, dogs, or any other kind of animal. He does not play. He lived with 15 other cats and tolerated all of them. They did not play. Also, described as friendly, independent, and mellow with a low activity level. Reaction to assessor: Francis looks shy, crouched down at the back when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Francis remains in place, alert with a blank stare. Reaction to touch: Francis began to lip lick, but once touched he sat up and leans into the assessor’s hand. Reaction to Being Picked up: He becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Francis interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
