SAFE 7/8/18 **RINGWORM SUSPECT** Four adorable kittens who are 6-7 weeks old were surrendered by a friend of the owner. They all have or have been exposed to ringworm by a littermate and will need a foster home where they can be treated prior to adoption.

Medical Behavior: Blue

Sex: Male

Age: 6 weeks

History: owner surrender for friend

Subjective: BAR

Observed Behavior – compliant for exam

Evidence of Cruelty seen – N

Evidence of Trauma seen – N

Objective
T = DNP
P = 190
R = eup
BCS 5/9

EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted
Oral Exam: full deciduous dentition
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Mildly distended, non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: Intact male- both testes in scrotum
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, single live flea seen- no flea dirt, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: Externally WNL

Assessment: fleas; ~6wk MI kitten w/ suspected ringworm positive kitten in litter so will treat prophylactically

Prognosis: good

Plan: Itraconazole 5mg/kg PO SID x21d, tx fleas; ok for placement

SURGERY:
Temporary waiver due to age.
