12/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Forbin was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Forbin was hiding in his feral den at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Forbin makes eye contact through the air holes, low growls and doesn’t come out when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Forbin remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Forbin arches his back with his ears bent flat and strikes when the assessor approaches. His eyes dilate, he starts low growling and he currently doesn’t allow any contact. Determination: New Hope Only Forbin is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
