Hello, my name is Fonzie. My animal id is #11217. I am a male brown tabby cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years old. – P
I came into the shelter as a stray on 30-Oct-2017.
Fonzie is at risk due to being FIV+. There are no behavior concerns for Fonzie at this time (Beginner determination).

FIV positive 2. gingivitis Prognosis: good with care Plan: rabies vaccination given SURGERY: Okay for surgery

Fonzie jumped out of the box he came in and stood up and looked around. He allowed me to hold him and nuzzled in my arms. He allowed me to pet and collar and take pictures of him. After being held for about 30 minutes he flicked his tail and smelled me and I put him in his kennel.

Basic Information:: Fonzie is a brown tabby and white male cat, estimated to be about 2 years old. He was brought in as a stray on 10/30/17. His finder kept him for 1 week. He has no known injuries or health concerns.

How is this cat around strangers?: Around strangers, Fonzie is friendly and outgoing. He goes up to people and head butts. When he plays with adults he is gentle.
How is this cat around children?: Fonzie did not interact with children.
How is this cat around other cats?: Fonzie did not interact with other cats.
How is this cat around dogs?: Fonzie did not interact with dogs.
Behavior Notes: He meows during car rides. He enjoys being picked up. He isn’t bothered if he is placed in a carrier or disturbed while sleeping.
Bite history:: Fonzie did not attempt to bite a person or animal while with his finder.

Medical Notes: Fonzie does not have any known injuries or medical concerns.
For a New Family to Know: Fonzie is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, and quiet. His finders like that he is friendly with everyone. When his finders were home he followed them around. He likes to play with stuffed toys. He slept on a blanket and ate dry Instinct. He is litter box trained and used clumping litter in an uncovered box. He did not scratch.
KNOWN HISTORY:: Fonzie was brought in as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. However, the finder kept him for 1 week with some info. Behavior toward strangers: Around strangers, Fonzie is friendly and outgoing. He goes up to people and head butts. When he plays with adults he is gentle. Bite or Scratch history: none Litter box training: yes Energy level/descriptors: Low Other notes: Fonzie is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, and quiet.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Subjective: BARH, allows handling
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: Sitting in middle of cage, eating wet food. Completely ignored me when door opened. Allowed all pets, lifted rear for butt scratches, never stopped eating.

Reaction to assessor:: Fonzie immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Fonzie remains soft in place.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Fonzie remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention.
Reaction to touch:: Fonzie head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body.
Reaction to being picked up:: Allows the pickup and remains calm.
