10/14/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Fluffy is an easy going and laid back cat. Her owner reports she’s been having litter box issues and is urinating and defecating around the house. She was taken to the vet and the vet stated she’s been having litter box issues because of her age. She doesn’t mind being pet but gets uncomfortable when picked up. When held she hisses and leaps out of your hands. She does not have any front claws to scratch you with but she will try to bite if she feels threatened. Fluffy has never been around other cats or dogs. Reaction to assessor: Fluffy was lying down on her blanket near the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Fluffy seems unsure and stays at the back with her eyes focused on the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Fluffy rises up and remains calm. Reaction to touch: Fluffy leans forward to sniff the assessor then she gently leans in allowing rubs on her cheek. She looks around wary of her surroundings and allows petting all over her body with a gentle approach. Her body rises up when rubbed along her back, she appreciates attention and her tail starts to flicker back and forth the more you interact with her. Reaction to being picked up: Fluffy is tense when picked up, looked around wary of her surroundings then leaped back into the kennel and stayed at the back. Behavior Determination: Experience Kat may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
