Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Name and A#: A1107914 Florence Date: 4/8/2017 KNOWN HISTORY: Florence came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Florence was nervous and attempted to flee. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat, cat hiding in den Reaction to assessor: Florence looks at the assessor with wide eyes. Reaction when softly spoken to: Florence remains still, body tense Reaction to cage door opening: Florence remains motionless Reaction to touch: Florence slowly backs up, looking for an exit, but tolerates handling MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: did not allow handling ACTIVITY LEVEL: Low VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Calm, Independent RECOMMENDATIONS: _x_ Experienced, adult home only POTENTIAL CHALLENGES _x_ Fearful Behavior observations _x_ Experienced, Adult Only Florence tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home who understands this cat may need time to warm up to his/her new home and family at his/her own pace.
