*** SAFE 01/07/18 *** Flash was brought in by a good Samaritan helping out a friend who can no longer take care of the animals in the home. Flash is a white and brown tabby, DSH male. He was neutered prior to coming into the shelter and has not seen a vet recently.
Flash has lived with other cats in his previous home and was relaxed and tolerant of them.
FLASH is a 5 yr old neutered boy who has a URI and some alopecia. He allows handling and needs a furever home!

I came into the shelter as a stray on 31-Dec-2017.

Flash is at risk due to being diagnosed with an Upper Respiratory Infection and will likely require home rest and a series of antibiotics for up to 14 days. This is a contagious illness to other cats. Flash has been friendly in the care center and allows all handling.

[Spay/Neuter Waiver – Upper Respiratory Illness] Your newly adopted animal is in treatment for an upper respiratory illness. The veterinarian is temporarily waiving this animal from the spay/neuter requirements of the City of NY until such time as the illness has resolved and the pet has sufficiently recovered. At that time, this animal must come into compliance with the spay/neuter requirements.

Tends towards flight rather than fight. Evidence of Cruelty seen – no Evidence of Trauma seen – no Objective T = NA P = wnl R = wnl BCS 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears mild brown waxy debris (AS>AD), mucoid to mucopurulent nasal discharge and audible congestion Oral Exam: Grade 2-3/4 dental dz PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: wnl for neutered male MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, partial alopecia nasal planum and tail CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: not performed Assessment: URI and Alopecia Prognosis: Good Plan: Keeping in KTEMP because ISO is full. Move to ISO when space available. Start on Doxycycline 50mg/ml – 1ml PO q24h x 10d. Recheck day 7 and 10. SURGERY: Already neutered

Reaction to touch:: Flash meows and leans in, allowing petting and rubs along her body. His tail quivers, he gives head butts and appreciates petting/attention.
