02/07/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: Unknown Flannel was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. EVALUATION: 02/05/17 Nervous and unsure, at back of cage. Looks like belly is a bit big. Shifted to other side of kennel, through porthole, when I approached, but with a slow, gentle reach allows all petting, body posture somewhat tense, doesn’t ease much with the attention. Able to pick up and hold. Sweet, lovely young girl, needs time to adjust; isn’t ready to come forward yet, needs to gain some confidence. In an apparently broken kennel bank, unbalanced and wobbly, which isn’t helping. Gave some chicken and a small catnip-seeped plush toy. 02/06/17 Hanging at back of kennel, shifts between kennel sides via the porthole. Stress meowing, tense and wary. Couldn’t coax forward with treats. Able to pet, but she’s uncomfortable. 02/07/17 Lying at back of kennel, alert, really an adorable face. Nervous and wary, but allows petting all over, stress meows some while being touched. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: sociable, mild tensed and nervous but allowed handling ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Sweet RECOMMENDATIONS: _x_ Experienced cat parent BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Experience Flannel may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
