11/23/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Fiorella was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Fiorella was curled up in her litter box with her tail at her side. Reaction when softly spoken to: Fiorella keeps her head lowered, lip licks and seems very wary of her surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Fiorella remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Fiorella is hesitant and leans away when the assessor extends his hand out. Her ears flatten, she looks around for an exit then slowly shifts away. She keeps her body lowered and quickly moves forward attempting to flee when the assessor tries to make contact. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Fiorella is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
