Behavior during intake: Finch had a soft and relaxed body during intake. Counselor was able to scan for a microchip, collar and take a picture without any issues. He was soliciting attention by head bunting during intake and would purr when counselor pet him.

Observed Behavior – immediately social, soliciting attention (head butts), allows all handling with minimal restraint.

Heaving breathing, comes forward with a relaxed body. Leans in when rubbed on cheeks. Gives head butts, ears tilt forward. He nuzzles up for petting/attention. Didn’t mind being picked up/held. Doing good!

Finch is sitting in front of his kennel as the assessor approaches, ears forward and face relaxed.

Finch makes eye contact when spoken to and slow blinks.

Finch stands up as the cage door opens and raises his tail.

Finch allows petting along his head and body while leaning in, tail raised and pilo-erect along the base. He purrs and kneads the kennel floor with continued petting.

Finch remains calm and continues to purr as the assessor lifts him up and carries him.
