**SAFE 06/27/17** Fidget spinners are all the rage, Fidget’s life depends on HIM being all the rage tonight! FIDGET is a big tabby at 22 lbs!! He is already neutered, and was dumped for allergies – came in with another cat – he MUST be reserved by a member of the public before NOON tomorrow!

I am a neutered male gray tabby and white domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 7 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 06/10/2017 from NY 11373, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES. I came in with Group/Litter #K17-100411.

06/04/17 14:24 Basic information: Fidget is a 7 year old Gray Tabby Neutered DSH. His owner found him as a stray when he was a kitten. Fidgets owner needs to surrender him and another cat Lola because of asthma and allergies the kids and herself suffers from. Fidget has no known health problems or injuries; he has not seen a vet recently. Socialization: Around strangers fidget is shy for a few minutes, he will come around after a little while. He has lived and spent time with children ages 2 years old and up; around them he is relaxed, and affectionate. When playing with adults or children fidget is gentle; he has lived and spent time with another cat Lola. When around her he is relaxed, respectful, and gentle. Fidget has also lived and spent time with a dog (Chihuahua); he is relaxed, and respectful with him. Fidget has no bite history. Behavior: Fidget is house trained; he will have litter box accidents when the litter box isn’t cleaned. He has had a history of scratching furniture in the home; Fidget has not been in a car ride. Fidget has not had a bath/ nails trimmed since he was a kitten. He enjoys having his coat brushed; struggles to get down when being picked up/ held. Fidget struggles being placed inside the carrier; he isn’t bothered if disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Fidgets family would describe him as affectionate, playful, and mellow. Fidgets activity level is a low to medium; his favorite activity is playing with Q-tips. When in the home fidget likes to be in the same room as you, his favorite toy is jingle balls, and stuffed toys. Fidget is kept indoors only and he likes to sleep in his owner’s bed at night. He eats both dry/wet foods 2 times a day and uses an uncovered cat litter box; with crystal kitty litter. Fidget has a scratching post made of cardboard.

KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: Adults and spent time with children ages 2 and up Behavior toward strangers: Shy for a few minutes, he will come around after a little while Behavior toward children: Relaxed and affectionate Behavior toward cats: She has lived and spent time with another cat; she is relaxed & respectful. Behavior toward dogs: She has also lived and spent time with a Chihuahua and was respectful around him Bite or Scratch history: None Litter box training: Yes, but has had litter box accidents when the litter boxed wasn’t cleaned Energy level/descriptors: Affectionate, playful and mellow with a medium to low activity level Other notes: He has had a history of scratching furniture in the home. He enjoys having his coat brushed; struggles to get down when being picked up/ held. Fidget struggles being placed inside the carrier; he isn’t bothered if disturbed while sleeping. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Nervous but easy to handle and tolerates all treatment and exam well EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Fidget was crouched near the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Fidget makes eye contact, his ears are tilted forward but he doesn’t get up or come forward when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: fidget lip licks and slowly turns his head away. Reaction to touch: Fidget seems wary and unsure of his surroundings. He tolerates petting with a slow approach and seems to prefer being pet on his head. He tilts his head and leans in when rubbed on his cheeks but grumbles when pet along his back. After a couple soft pets he starts to build confidence and appreciates attention. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced cat parent – Fidget may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
