Behavior::
KNOWN HISTORY: Unknown
EVALUATION: 02/09/17
Tense and wary, wants to hide, lip licking. Doesn’t appear to have eaten or moved much overnight. At back of cage, lying low, head down, does look up at me when I approach kennel and open door. With a slow, gentle approach he lets me pet all over, doesn’t move, stays quiet, but he’s tense and turns his head away, lip licks.
02/12/17
Somewhat nervous and unsure yet, startles easily, but is making good progress. With a gentle approach he begins to warm up, enjoying petting and soliciting more, arching his back, tail quivers. He’s a huge cat. More active now but still mostly quiet and curled up. He’s a sweet housecat, doesn’t seem to have a high activity level.
02/13/17
Perked up just after I opened his kennel and door and said hello. Lifted up, big stretch, came right to me, social and friendly. Appreciated petting all over, arches back. He really is a huge cat. Allowed me to pick up and hold. Startles easily, but is doing much better. Gave a new Pillows for Paws plush toy and some treats
02/14/17
Hold should be up soon; social cat that perks up with attention, comes forward when I open cage door. Should get his chance in adoptions soon. Nice big fella, a little older (and wiser), would be a nice, pleasant couch companion in a comfy home.

Somewhat nervous and unsure yet, startles easily, but is making good progress. With a gentle approach he begins to warm up, enjoying petting and soliciting more, arching his back, tail quivers. He’s a huge cat. More active now but still mostly quiet and curled up. He is eating crunchy food primarily, didn’t seem interested in the wet food or the frozen salmon pop I offered. Not much interest in toys or catnip so far. He’s a sweet housecat, doesn’t seem to have a high activity level. Needs a big, comfy couch to occupy. Freshened up his cage with an addtl blanket, fresh wet food, some treats and new toys.
