***SAFE 08/30/16*** SECOND CHANCE FOR SPICE, ACORN & FALL!! (PUMPKIN – SAFE, LATTE – UNKNOWN STATUS)……SOMEONE TRAPPED THIS BENSONHURST BUNCH – ALL OLDER KITTIES WHO NEED A MIRACLE TONIGHT TO HAVE A CHANCE TO ESCAPE THEIR FATE AT NOON SATURDAY!! Yes, someone brought these five cats, FALL, ACORN, LATTE, PUMPKIN and SPICE in from zip code 11214. All of them are RESCUE ONLY even though LATTE is AVERAGE rated. Could that possibly be because the ACC said she is PREGNANT at 10 yrs old? Many of them seem to have eye issues especially poor ACORN. We wonder if these cats were really trapped or they are just a group of some chicken hearted owner who is dumping them because he won’t fess-up to the way he has cared for his cats!! PLEASE don’t look at the bad photos and the scruffy looks. ALL of these cats are afraid – and need someone with some cat whispering skills to give them a place to chill and decompress. Please read each one’s bio and realize that these kitties would love nothing more than to have a warm bed, food and some love – even if they can’t reciprocate right away. PLEASE CONTACT A NEW HOPE RESCUE IF YOU CAN FOSTER OR ADOPT FALL, ACORN, LATTE, PUMPKIN OR SPICE TONIGHT. ALL OF THEM DESERVE TO LIVE AND HAVE LOVE. EMAIL [email protected] FOR RESCUE INFO.

08/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Fall came into the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Fall was hiding in the back of the carrier. Reaction to assessor: Fall continued to hide when approached with tense body language and flat ears. Reaction when softly spoken to: Fall attempted to retreat further into his cage and was still tense. Reaction to cage door opening: Fall attempted to retreat further into his cage, becomes stiff, alert and lip licks. Reaction to touch: Fall moved to avoid touch and began to hiss and growl at the assessor. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Fall is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. Fall is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
