Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Fabolous was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. The finder was able to catch him by luring him with food. He was fearful and attempted to flee during intake. He was also nervous during his initial medical exam, displaying distance-increasing behaviors during handling. Reaction to assessor: Fabolous was lying down by the back and had a neutral body posture. Reaction when softly spoken to: Fabolous looks at the assessor, but does not display any reaction. Reaction to cage door opening: Fabolous remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Fabolous remains completely still as the assessor slowly extends their hand. He sniffs their hand when placed in front of him, but remains immobile. He flinches slightly with gentle petting, but does not display any further reaction. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Fabolous tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
