He lived in a large family with many adults and three young children. He also lived with and loved a female cat. Eslan has a very interesting ringed tail, which he swishes back and forth to express himself. You can see from his picture that he is gorgeous, and he looks even better in the flesh (or should I say “fur”?)…..ESLAN is a hefty lad who is NEUTERED and AVERAGE rated (we consider him Above Average)…ADD A BIT OF ORANGE TO YOUR LIFE AND APPLY TO FOSTER OR ADOPT ESLAN NOW!!

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 10/05/2016 from NY 11225, owner surrender reason stated was PERS PROB. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-076937.

10/05/16 18:32 Eslan is a six year old neutered orange tabby. He was surrendered by his owner facing health issues and no longer being able to care for Eslan or his littermate Sasha. He was given to owner from a friend and has been with his owner since he was a kitten. Eslan has lived with five adults and three children ages five to eleven. He is described as friendly around strangers and will engage in gentle play with the aduls in the home. He is relaxed and affectionate around the children. Owner stated he likes to engage in gentle play and likes to be pet and rubbed. Eslan has lived with a female cat in the home, his littermate and is described as realxed and affectionate towards her. He has never been around dogs. Eslan is not bothered when placed in a carrier or when he is held. He was not groomed or brushed by his owner. Eslan eats dry food Deli cat brand and is fed twice a day. He has been kept only indoors and is litterbox trained. Upon intake Eslan was shy and slowly moved away from cousnelor when approached. He was receptive to petting and cousnelor was able to collar and scan (negative). When cousnelor reached into the carrier to lift Eslan he became tense and moved to the back of the carrier, photo was taken inside carrier.

10/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Eslan has lived with 5 adults and 3 children ages 5 – 11years old and was relaxed and affectionate with them. He is friendly around strangers and will engage in gentle play with adults. He has not been around dogs but has lived with a female cat in the home and was described as affectionate towards the other cat in the home. His owner states he likes to be held and is not bothered when placed in a carrier. Reaction to assessor: Eslan was lying down on his blanket near the front of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Eslan reaches his paws out towards the assessor for attention. Reaction to cage door opening: Eslan is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Eslan is very sweet, lifts his head up when rubbed and allows petting all over. His body is relaxed, leans in for rubs and gently gives head butts when rubbed on his head and along his body. Reaction to being picked up: Eslan was a bit tense when picked up but remained calm and allowed all handling. Behavior Determination: Average Eslan interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
