Observed Behavior – Kittens are at back of cage and immediately start hissing, head turning, and swatting when attempted to pick up for exam. Was able to place towel over each kitten and remove from cage. Once on exam table male allowed all handling (including wiping of eyes and nose) with minial restraint. Female was less trusting and would head turn at sudden movements, but no attempts to bite or scratch during exam. All behavior seems fear related; would rather flee than fight. Ligual ulcers do not appear to be affecting appetite at this time; no meds needed. Monitor appetite and for other URI signs. Prognosis: Good SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to underage/underweight and possible UR virus
