12/05/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Eggs was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in a previous home. Reaction to assessor: Eggs was curled up on his blanket and ignored the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Eggs remained curled up on his blanket, made some eye contact, but otherwise ignored the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Eggs became tense and lip licked. Reaction to touch: Eggs allowed some petting, but retreated to the back of the cage, lip licked, and was tense and uncomfortable. Reaction to being picked up: Eggs resisted being picked up and attempted to flee. Please note that Eggs is being treated for apparent trauma to the face and right hind limb, as well as a URI, at the time of the evaluation. It is difficult to determine how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. Please note that his behavior may change once his medical conditions are addressed and he has recovered. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Eggs tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
