EASTBOUND – A1065342
Safe - 2-24-2016 Brooklyn Rescue: Staten Island Hope Please honor your pledges: http://www.statenislandhoperescue.org/
*** SAFE 02/24/16 *** Beautiful earth tones are set off by luminous green eyes in EASTBOUND, a young lady who was brought to the ACC in a trap. She came in with another cat, but tonight it’s all about EASTBOUND! She is nervous at the shelter, which just speaks to how intelligent and perceptive she is, and that has played out as an EXPNOCHILD rating. Please find this girl a safe place to decompress, a loving supportive home environment where she can thrive. Advocate relentlessly for EASTBOUND tonight!

02/20/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Eastbound and at the time she was tense with her body lowered in litter box. She toleranted brief touch. Eastbound tries to flee and is very nervous. Reaction to assessor: Eastbound was tense at the back of the cage When spoken quietly: Eastbound remains tense at the back of the cage Reaction to door cage opening: Eastbound moves further into the corner at the back of the cage Reaction to touch: Eastbound allows petting with a slow and gentle approach Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Eastbound was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices she relaxed a little. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. I was also able to pick her up and although she was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children.
