I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/27/2016 from NY 11354, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

11/27/16 16:53 Dusty is a white and gray DSH with no known medical conditions, Dusty was found wandering loose and allowed finder to pick him up. Finder described dusty as friendly and sweet. During intake Dusty was talkative and curious. Dusty allowed to be scanned and collared with a loose body. Dusty enjoyed being pet and began to purr.

11/30/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Dusty was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Dusty was relaxed and purring inside his litter box at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Dusty rolls around playfully, stretches then reaches out towards the assessor for attention. Reaction to cage door opening: Dusty is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Dusty sniffs the assessor’s hand then gently head butts and leans in for attention. He gets up and comes to forward, solicits attention and purrs softly when pet. His tail pilo-erects and starts to quiver when rubbed, continues rolling around and is very affectionate. Reaction to being picked up: Dusty was a bit tense when picked up then gets antsy and leaps away. Please note that Dusty is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. Behavior Determination: Average Dusty interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
