***SAFE 06/28/16***PERFECTLY HEALTHY AND DECLAWED GIRL ABANDONED AT THE SHELTER!! DUSTY NEEDS A HERO TONIGHT! DUSTY is a 10 year old spayed lady whose owner didn’t want to pay the intake fee or was just too chicken to show his face when dumping his pet. DUSTY is also a DECLAWED kitty and she is not at all happy about being in the shelter. Sadly, because she isn’t allowing anyone to touch her, they have punished her with a New Hope rating. DUSTY is most likely a good girl – she was once someone’s loved pet. She misses her home and the cruel person who dumped her there. Sadly if nobody will step up to give this poor girl a chance for another home, she will have her life cut short. BE DUSTY’S RESCUE ANGEL TONIGHT AND CONTACT A RESCUE TO PULL HER TO SAFETY!!

06/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Dusty was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Dusty is curled up at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Dusty gets up, with his tail tucked under his body and starts to low growl. Reaction to cage door opening: Dusty remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Dusty’s ears flatten and hisses as you approach. He raises his paw as a warning and currently does not allow handling. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Dusty is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
