DUNCAN – A1077597
Gone - 7-5-2016 Manhattan
***GONE 07/05/16***ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL CAT WILL BE KILLED TOMORROW AT NOON! DUNCAN is a GORGEOUS 1 year old tabby lady! Just look at those markings! What stunning kitty! Unfortunately, she and her housemates (not listed tonight) ended up at the shelter after their owner died 2 weeks ago. This beauty has earned herself loving volunteer notes, regardless of the fact that the people at the ACC don’t even know how to properly identify the sex of a cat….”That cotton-soft fur! Those Audrey Hepburn green eyes! That brick-red button nose! Duncan is one handsome young man, that’s for sure. But along with his beauty, he has personality too: he’s a champion nap-taker and eater who can be shy at first but warms up quickly to all humans. He did well on his behavior test here at the Care Center, with our assessor noting that though he seemed unsure at first, he quickly loosened up and leaned right in for handling and petting. Duncan is just a year old, barely out of his kitten years, and he has a lot of love to give a new pet parent or forever family. Come meet this tabby chunk of catness on 110th Street today!” Despite the fact that this volunteer mislabeled this little lady as a boy, the desciption of her excellent behavior says enough. Duncan has earned an EXPERIENCED RATING. She was just a wee bit tense during her assessment, but warmed up after a moment. Surely she would blossom once put back into a loving home! Please don’t let the ACC make Duncan another statistic tomorrow at noon. Advocate for her TONIGHT!

06/21/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Duncan looks tense, crouched position at the back when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Duncan remains in place, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Duncan is unsure at first, but slowly loosens up and began to lean into the assessor’s hand while she remains wary with her surroundings. Placement determination: Experience Duncan tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
