DONUT AND THE “D” KITTENS – #K16-063287
Safe - 7-5-2016 Staten Island Rescue: Feline Rescue of SI Please honor your pledges: http://felinerescueofstatenisland.org/donation/
**SAFE 07/05/16** NEW HOPE RESCUE IS NEEDED FOR AN ENTIRE FAMILY TONIGHT! The ACC is supposed to be a haven for New York City’s most vulnerable citizens—the stray animals who are taken to the shelter, and depend on the mercy shown to them within those walls. Well, here’s the hard fact: it’s NOT MERCY that will be shown to this family tomorrow, it’s DEATH! Meet DONUT, a 2-year-old mama cat who was taken to the shelter with her wee babies in tow—DANIELLE, DANIEL and DONO. Mama DONUT is terrified and defensive, and her vision is probably limited in one eye so that’s only going to compound the situation; naturally, she wound up with a NEW HOPE rating because she didn’t love the ACC staff or their plastic hand. The kittens are young enough to make a NEW HOPE rating of their own accord. Sprinkle in the fact that it’s a major holiday weekend and this crew faces STEEP ODDS! DONUT and her babies are going to be snuffed out tomorrow, by the VERY SAME ENTITY that is supposed to be helping them. It’s NOT what should happen, but it’s an outcome that can only be prevented if a foster/adopter steps up to work with a NEW HOPE rescue tonight!
