Donkey came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Donkey was nervous and did not allow handling. Reaction to assessor: Donkey is hiding in her den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Donkey continues to hide. Reaction to cage door opening: Donkey growls. Reaction to touch: Donkey growls and avoids touch, searches for an exit. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Donkey does not approach the assessor and does not allow handling. Donkey is exhibiting behavior suited to rescue partners.
