Once in the den, animal went to the back of the den and was trying to flee when I came up to open the den. I was not able to scan for a m/c or collar due to this behavior.

Donatello came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Donatello attempted to flee and did not allow handling. Reaction to assessor: Donatello is lying in the back of her cage. Reaction when softly spoken to: Donatello looks at the assessor with wide eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Donatello visibly tenses. Reaction to touch: Donatello shifts, but allows petting on head and back. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Donatello does not approach the assessor and appears uncomfortable with petting and handling. Donatello is exhibiting behavior suited to experienced cat parents with no children who can allow her to adjust at her own pace.
