I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 12/06/2016 from NY 10035, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES.

12/06/16 19:37 basic information Dojo is a 6 year old male altered cat. Owner is surrendering due to allergies of a family member. There are no injuries or health concerns owner is aware about. Socialization Around strangers, he is shy for a few days and hides under beds. He lived with a 5 year old and 5 month old and was very respectful with them. He plays exuberant with adults but doesnt play with children. He spent time with a 2 year old cat and was very tolerant with him. He played exuberant with the other cat. He has not lived with dogs. There is no bite history of a person or animal. behavior Owner stated there are no behavior issues with cat. He was quiet in car ride. He has no litterbox issues. He struggles in bath tub. He isnt bothered with trimming of nails, brushing of cat, or picking up and holding him. He struggles when putting in carrier. For the new family to know Owner described him as friendly, mellow, shy, and quiet. His activity level is low. Owners favorite thing about him is he likes to paw gently at there back to get attention. When owner is hom he follows you around. He likes stuffed toys and feathers. He was mostly indoors and ate wet, dry purina food. He uses a hooded litterbox with clumping litter. He scratches on carpet vertically. Behavior upon intake Cat was receptive to all handling including collaring, scanning, intake photo, and transfer to carrier.

Former owner stated around strangers, he is shy for a few days and hides under beds. He lived with a 5 year old and 5 month old and was very respectful with them. He plays exuberant with adults but doesnt play with children. He spent time with a 2 year old cat and was very tolerant with him. He played exuberant with the other cat. He has not lived with dogs. Also, described as friendly, mellow, shy, and quiet with a low activity level. Reaction to assessor: Dojo looks neutral, lying down by the front when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Dojo remains in place, alert with normal shape eyes. Reaction to touch: Dojo leans into the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Dojo interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
