Dixie leans forward to sniff the assessor, then gently rubs her cheeks against the cage door.

Dixie’s tail pilo erects and she rolls over on her side when pet along her body. She gives head butts, purrs and allows petting all over.

Dixie was a bit tense when picked up and tried to wiggle out of the assessor’s arms.

Behavior NotesOwner stated that overall Dixie behaves well. On the way to the ACC in the car she was meowing. She does scratch on the chair in the home due to the fact she was never provided a scratching post. Dixie loves water and enjoys being bathed. She isn’t bothered if she is brushed or has her nails trimmed. She also isn’t bothered if she is pushed off the couch or disturbed while she sleeps.

For a New Family to KnowOwner described Dixie as friendly affectionate and mellow. When at home she likes to be in the same room as her owner. She likes to play with balls and paper. She has been kept indoors only and eats both wet and dry food. She is used to eating Science Diet Brand cat food. Dixie is also used to an uncovered litter box with clumping litter.
Behavior Notes:During intake Dixie allowed the counselor to pick her up collar her and take her picture with no problems.
